Bally Technologies buys ChiliGaming's Internet Gaming Platform

No purchase price was announced for the acquisition, although it is expected to be modest.

Bally Technologies announced that it has acquired an Internet gaming platform from ChiliGaming.

The slot machine giant will use the platform to help its casino customers break into the online gaming world through both free play and wager-based gaming websites.

The acquisition does not mean Bally Technologies is planning to launch its own Internet gaming website, but the company is expanding its gaming division to participate in online gaming.

Deutsche Bank gaming analyst Carlo Santarelli said, “The deal provides Bally with a key element towards advancing its mobile and online player tracking and bonusing initiatives.”

Bally Technologies has an application pending with Nevada gaming regulators under the state’s newly enacted Internet poker regulations. Nevada is the only state so far to adopt regulations which will allow wagering in their jurisdiction. Until larger states adopt these regulations, revenue expectations are low.

Last month, rival International Game Technology acquired social gaming giant Double Down Interactive. Shuffle Master Gaming has also launched an interactive gaming division.
